Man Severely Injured in Munich After Confronting Catcallers

A 22-year-old man suffered severe injuries in Munich after allegedly being assaulted by two construction workers who made inappropriate comments, known as catcalling, towards his girlfriend. The incident occurred on July 10, 2026, when the victim was walking with his girlfriend and another acquaintance near a construction site.

According to police reports, the two construction workers, aged 21 and 38, directed unwelcome remarks at the woman. A verbal dispute ensued, escalating into a physical altercation. During the struggle, the 22-year-old man allegedly struck the 21-year-old worker, causing a minor facial injury. Subsequently, the victim fell to the ground, at which point the construction workers allegedly kicked him multiple times in the upper body and head with their safety boots.

The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, including two facial fractures, a concussion, and multiple bruises. Another individual who attempted to intervene also sustained minor facial injuries. The construction workers fled the scene following the assault but were arrested shortly thereafter based on a witness's tip. They are currently in police custody and are expected to be brought before an investigating judge. Charges of dangerous bodily harm have been filed against the construction workers, while the 22-year-old victim faces a charge of bodily harm.
