Man with Weapons Arrested Near Political Stand in Kragujevac

Police in Kragujevac, Serbia, arrested a man found with weapons near a stand belonging to the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). The incident occurred on Saturday in the city center. Mayor Nikola Dašić credited the swift and professional actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for preventing potentially graver outcomes.

"Thanks to the rapid and professional response of the members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs today in the city center, possible more serious consequences were prevented, and the person with dangerous items was apprehended," the mayor stated on his Instagram account.

According to N1 reporters on the scene, the arrest took place near Trg Radomira Putnika, where an SNS stand had been set up. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the arrested man was carrying a knife, an axe, and a pistol. The Kragujevac Police Administration has not yet released official information regarding the case. Police officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, were present at the location, which was also slated to host a student bazaar.
