A playful rivalry has emerged between the bands Oasis and Maná, sparked by a World Cup prediction and evolving into a musical showdown off the field. The exchange began when Liam Gallagher of Oasis forecasted a 5-0 victory for England against Mexico in the World Cup 2026.

Fher Olvera, the frontman of Maná, responded in a video, waving the Mexican flag and playfully challenging Gallagher's prediction. "5-0? No way, get a grip," Olvera said with a laugh, adding, "See you Sunday," turning the World Cup match into a musical preview.

This exchange prompted a hypothetical question: who would win if Maná and Oasis faced off as football teams? Oasis appears to have an initial advantage with over 100 million albums sold worldwide since the 1990s, placing them among rock history's most successful groups. Maná, however, is not far behind, with more than 45 million albums sold, establishing them as the most commercially successful Spanish-language rock band internationally.

On streaming platforms, Oasis leads with approximately 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while Maná has around 27 million. However, Maná surpasses Oasis in platform followers. On social media, Oasis has a larger Instagram following, but Maná dominates YouTube with a significantly larger subscriber base and millions of video views.
