Managalas hosts Province’s biggest World Environment Day event

Oro Province celebrated World Environment Day with what organizers are calling the largest event of its kind ever held in the region. The Managalas Conservation Area served as the venue for a two-day youth conservation camp and climate trail, drawing more than 250 young participants from across the province's 11 zones.

The initiative, held at Afore, was part of the global World Environment Day 2026 celebrations. Its theme, “Inspired by Nature for Climate, For Our Future,” underscored a commitment to environmental stewardship and climate action, particularly among the younger generation.

The event provided a platform for youth engagement in conservation efforts. Through activities like the conservation camp and climate trail, participants were immersed in nature-based learning experiences designed to foster a deeper understanding of environmental challenges and solutions. The large turnout signifies a growing interest and participation in environmental causes among the youth of Oro Province.
