Manchester United, Tottenham Eye Croatian Striker Matanović

Croatian striker Igor Matanović is attracting significant attention from top English clubs, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly vying for his signature.

Manchester United is actively seeking a new forward as Joshua Zirkzee appears set to leave the club. Zirkzee's potential departure, following a less-than-stellar performance in England, has prompted United's manager Michael Carrick to search for reinforcements. The 196cm tall Matanović is seen as an ideal candidate to fill this attacking void.

Matanović, 23, enjoyed a successful first season at Freiburg after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt for eight million euros. He netted 15 goals across all competitions and was part of the team that reached the Europa League final under manager Julian Schuster.

Tottenham is also in the hunt, with manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly looking to add height to his attack, despite having Dominic Solanke and Richarlison already in the squad. Fiorentina, managed by Fabio Grosso, is also monitoring the situation, viewing Matanović as an alternative should their primary target, Zirkzee, not materialize.

Matanović's current market value is estimated at 22 million euros by Transfermarkt, indicating a potentially lucrative move for the Croatian international.
