Manhunt begins as gunmen kill four, raze homes in Anambra

Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt for gunmen who brutally attacked a settlement in Agu-Ifite, Awka, killing four herders and numerous cattle. The assailants also set two houses ablaze during the early Tuesday morning raid, sparking panic among residents.

The victims were reportedly at their settlement when the armed group invaded the area. Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, National Deputy Director-General of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, confirmed the horrific incident. He stated that the attackers not only killed four herders but also slaughtered cattle and burned homes before fleeing with some of the butchered meat towards the neighboring Mgbakwu community.

The association urged its members to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as investigations proceed.
