Manisa's 'Festival in My Neighborhood' brings joy and unity

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is fostering community spirit through its "Festival in My Neighborhood" events, which are bringing together residents and children. These celebrations kicked off in the Hafsasultan, Mesir, and Fatih neighborhoods and have since expanded, bringing color and joy to the city through gatherings in Adnan Menderes, Akpınar, Turgut Özal, and Nurlupınar neighborhoods.

The events have seen significant engagement, particularly from children and their families, reinforcing unity and togetherness among residents. The program includes interactive shows by entertainer Serdar Yıldırım, a performance by a traditional Zeybek dance troupe that received widespread applause, and a concert by Hasan Başkaya, conductor of the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Folk Music Choir. Throughout the day, sports activities, children's play areas, clown performances, and refreshments were enjoyed by all ages.

We are launching a new tradition under the leadership of our Manisa Metropolitan Mayor, Besim Dutlulu. These events, which will be held in 9 different locations from today until the end of August, will cover all our neighborhoods in the Manisa center, from Nurlupınar to Akgedik. We will continue to reach all our neighborhood residents with our understanding of social municipality, from children's games to traditional games, from concerts to refreshments.

Ural Sevener, head of the Culture, Arts, and Social Affairs Department of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, announced that these events, initiated under the leadership of Mayor Besim Dutlulu, will continue in 9 more locations by the end of August. He stated that the festivals will cover all central neighborhoods from Nurlupınar to Akgedik, aiming to reach all residents with social municipality services, offering everything from children's games and traditional activities to concerts and refreshments.

Local officials and residents have expressed their gratitude. Hafsasultan Neighborhood Head Zuhal Güneş highlighted the importance of such social events in neighborhoods with vulnerable populations. Mesir Neighborhood Head Semra Geçer noted that these gatherings in common areas unite neighboring communities, bringing happiness to residents, children, and youth. Turgut Özal Neighborhood Head İsmet Bakşi, serving his fourth term, pointed out that the absence of such events in peripheral neighborhoods for many years was a deficiency, and praised Mayor Dutlulu's team for bringing joy to children and women through this organization. Adnan Menderes Neighborhood Head Halil Özkan and Akpınar Neighborhood Head Erol Yılmaz also reported very positive feedback, emphasizing the value of children meeting in such an atmosphere at least once a year.

It was a deficiency that such events were not held in our peripheral neighborhoods for many years. Thanks to our President Besim and his team, our children and women were made happy with such an organization for the first time.
