Manouba: 1,008 bottles of mineral water seized during control campaign

Tunisian authorities have seized over a thousand bottles of mineral water during an economic control campaign in the Manouba governorate. The operation uncovered a significant quantity of undeclared goods being transported illegally.

Ten control teams from regional commerce departments, working with national security and national guard agents, conducted the campaign. They inspected distribution channels for essential consumer products, leading to the discovery of 1,008 bottles of 1.5-liter mineral water. The water was found in a vehicle lacking legal documentation and held by an individual unqualified for commercial trade.

This seizure was part of a broader effort that identified 84 economic infractions. These violations included failure to present purchase invoices, not displaying prices or illegally increasing them, lack of transport documents, refusal to sell, and the use of non-compliant scales. The food sector, particularly mineral water, was a major focus, with 39 infractions recorded in wholesale, retail, and road sales. Other sectors like dried fruits, fruits and vegetables, and poultry and eggs also saw violations.
