Manufacturing producer prices in Morocco decline slightly

Morocco's manufacturing sector saw a slight dip in producer prices in June, with the overall index for manufacturing industries, excluding oil refining, declining by 0.1% compared to the previous month. This modest decrease, reported by the High Commission for Planning (HCP), reflects varied price movements across different industrial sub-sectors.

The primary driver behind the overall decline was a notable drop in prices within the food manufacturing sector, which fell by 0.5%. Additionally, the mining sector experienced a 0.3% decrease in producer prices. These reductions were partially offset by slight price increases in the manufacturing of other non-metallic products and in the clothing industry, both of which saw a 0.1% rise.

In contrast, other key industrial sectors remained stable. The extractive industries, along with the production and distribution of electricity and water, reported no change in their producer price indices during June. This stability suggests a steady operational environment for these essential services and resource extraction activities within the Moroccan economy.
