Marquinhos scores late equalizer as PSG draw 2-2 with Lille

Paris Saint-Germain continued their sluggish start to the Ligue 1 season, needing a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Lille on Friday. The match, delayed by 15 minutes due to ticketing system problems, saw PSG struggle to break down a resolute Lille defense.

Lille took the lead in the 21st minute through Hakon Arnar Haraldsson, who finished a brilliant pass from Olivier Giroud. Despite boasting significant attacking talent, PSG found it difficult to create clear chances, with Lille packing their defense and forcing them to attack from wide areas. The home side appeared to have secured all three points when Dilane Bakwa scored in the 84th minute.

However, PSG mounted an improbable comeback in stoppage time. Midfielder Vitinha scored a superb curling strike in the first minute of added time, and four minutes later, he provided the assist for Marquinhos to head home the equalizer. This late flourish salvaged a point for PSG, but their continued struggles raise questions about their form early in the season. Lille now top the standings with four points from two games, while PSG sit sixth with two points.
