Married women share problems renewing Alberta driver’s licences

Married women in Alberta are facing unexpected hurdles when attempting to renew their driver's licenses, primarily due to discrepancies in their legal names. Christine Orme is among those who have encountered this issue. She explained that the difficulty stems from having different names on various documents. For instance, one identification might bear her maiden name, while another, such as her marriage certificate, reflects her married name. This inconsistency is causing significant problems during the renewal process.
