Mars Turkey Calls for 'Take Your Dog to Work Week,' Highlighting Benefits of Pet-Friendly Offices

Mars Turkey is championing "Take Your Dog to Work Week" to draw attention to the positive impacts of pet-friendly workplace policies on employee engagement, well-being, and employer branding.

A recent study by Mars, surveying over 16,000 people across Europe, revealed that pet-friendly policies are becoming a significant expectation for employees. The research indicates that 55% of European workers would consider switching jobs if they could bring their pets to work. Furthermore, 81% of respondents believe that pets make the office environment more relaxed and friendly, with 36% prioritizing pet-friendly policies over traditional benefits.

The trend is particularly pronounced among younger employees. Among those aged 18-24, 41% consider a company's pet-friendly policy when job hunting, and 42% rank these policies above benefits like private health insurance or parental leave. This suggests that pet-friendly workplaces are evolving from a perk to a strategic element in attracting and retaining talent.

Mars Turkey Corporate Relations Director Çağla Çavuşoğlu emphasized the value pets bring beyond the home. "We believe that the value pets add to our lives is not limited to our homes," she stated. "We see that the strong bond between people and their pets can also contribute positively to work culture with the right conditions and responsible practices." Mars Turkey itself offers a pet-friendly work environment year-round, stressing the importance of clear rules regarding hygiene, safety, shared responsibility, and employee needs for sustainability.

To further promote these practices, Mars Turkey is sharing guides developed under its global BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™️ program, offering recommendations on safety, hygiene, space design, and managing the experience for both employees and animals. The initiative aligns with their goal of creating a "Better World for Pets."
