Massa takes private jet to Caribbean for anniversary amid political discussions

Former Argentine Economy Minister Sergio Massa recently embarked on a luxury private jet trip to the Caribbean with his wife, Malena Galmarini, and a group of friends to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. The excursion took place just two days after Massa attended a key Peronist political summit in Buenos Aires.

The group, numbering seven people, reportedly departed from Montevideo, Uruguay, on August 13th. Their journey began with a flight from San Fernando airport to Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo, a common tactic for public figures seeking to avoid scrutiny. From Uruguay, they boarded a Gulfstream G-500 private jet, registered to the De Narváez business group, for a flight to Bridgetown, Barbados.

Sources close to Massa confirmed the trip was an invitation from businessman Francisco De Narváez, a friend of Massa's for 16 years, as a celebration of his 30th anniversary with Galmarini. Barbados, known for its pristine beaches and banking secrecy, is situated outside the hurricane zone.

Among the passengers was Daniel Guerra, a friend of Massa's and a businessman in the plastics industry, who also invests in real estate. Guerra's wife, Andrea Mirón, is a close friend of Malena Galmarini, and the couples have vacationed together previously. This is not the first time Massa and Guerra have traveled together; they previously shared a private flight to Rio de Janeiro in 2019 with other friends.

Another passenger identified in official documentation was Andrea González Iturbe, widow of Diego Santillán, who served as Massa's campaign chief when he was mayor of Tigre and later as Secretary of Citizen Protection. Santillán was instrumental in developing the Tigre Security System and the Tigre Operations Center (COT), a public security program that gained international recognition.
