Matt Damon surprised audiences by revealing that a woman was his stunt double for a demanding scene in Christopher Nolan's new film, 'The Odyssey.' Damon portrays Odysseus in the production, a role he considers one of his best performances to date.

To embody Odysseus, Damon underwent rigorous training and a strict diet, achieving a remarkable physique at 55. However, he emphasized the vital contribution of his stunt doubles, particularly for a brutal scene involving a fight against giant warriors in Lestrigonia. Devyn Dalton, a seasoned stuntwoman, dancer, and risk specialist, executed these combat sequences. Nolan opted for forced perspective rather than CGI, selecting Dalton for her stature and physical power to convincingly portray the scene.

Damon publicly lauded Dalton's work on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, stating, "She has the best arms I've ever seen in my life." This acknowledgment not only showcases Dalton's talent but also underscores the essential contributions of women in high-risk roles within the action film industry. Dalton, a 34-year-old Canadian with a height of 1.37 meters, has an extensive resume including work on 'Thunderbolts,' 'The Last of Us,' 'Project Adam,' and 'Godzilla,' as well as motion capture for 'Planet of the Apes.'
