Matt Damon's 'La Odisea' character Odysseus arrives in Fortnite; how to get the skin

Epic Games is bringing the epic hero Odysseus, portrayed by Matt Damon in the upcoming film 'La Odisea,' to the popular video game Fortnite. This collaboration arrives just days before the movie's premiere in Mexican cinemas on July 16.

Fortnite announced the partnership on its X account with the tagline, "It's time to go home." The promotional material showcases Odysseus's in-game appearance, featuring him in leather armor, wielding a shining sword, and donning an imposing helmet. Beyond the main character's attire, the game's shop will also feature a pickaxe inspired by the King of Ithaca's sword, a themed backpack accessory resembling the hero's iconic bow, and a graffiti titled "Helm of the King."

Adding to the excitement, a loading screen depicting the Trojan War will be available. Furthermore, a second skin, inspired by Agamemnon, King of Mycenae, and played by actor Benny Safdie, will also be introduced. This collaboration extends beyond mythological figures, as English footballer David Beckham will also join the game with both a formal suit and his iconic number 7 England jersey.

While most items will be available for purchase in the digital store by the end of the week, potentially starting July 17, players have an opportunity to acquire the Odysseus skin for free. This can be achieved by competing in the "Odyssey Cup" on July 15 at 6:00 PM, available for PC, consoles, and mobile devices in Mexico. Success in the cup, measured by points earned through eliminations and placement, will grant rewards to qualifying players in their respective regions.
