Mauricio Solís says Costa Rica's top-performing veterans should return to the national team

Mauricio Solís believes Costa Rica's national team should reopen the door to three of its most recognizable names: Joel Campbell, Celso Borges and Keylor Navas.

The former Costa Rica figure says the three historic national-team references should return if they are in good form. His view is that the national side belongs to the players performing best at the time.

Campbell, Borges and Navas have been important figures in Costa Rican football, but Solís's argument focuses on their current level rather than their reputations alone. If they are playing well, he says, they should be considered for a return to the national team.
