Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova, is encouraging Romanians to discover the under-explored natural beauty of the Oltenia region, particularly highlighting the wonders of Mehedinți County. Vasilescu recently shared her experience visiting Topolnița Cave, describing it as one of the planet's unique and exceptionally beautiful locations.

The Oltenia region, insufficiently exploited for tourism, unfortunately, holds little-explored but fantastically beautiful places. Mehedinți County has some unique areas on the planet, of a special beauty. Topolnița Cave is one of them.

Through a series of photos posted on Facebook, Vasilescu showcased the cave's splendor, urging those with remaining vacation days to visit. She candidly admitted that the excursion tested their physical limits, stating, "It didn't seem bad to us, despite the effort made, up to testing the limits of physical endurance."

Vasilescu emphasized that the Oltenia region remains insufficiently exploited for tourism, despite holding many unexplored yet "fantastically beautiful" places. She specifically pointed out Mehedinți County as a region with unique natural treasures.
