Mbappe slams Paraguayan senator over racist remarks

France's captain, Kylian Mbappe, has publicly denounced Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla, labeling her a "despicable woman" for allegedly making racist comments directed at him following France's World Cup victory over Paraguay. Mbappe took to his X account to accuse Amarilla of racism, stating that her behavior detracted from Paraguay's commendable World Cup campaign.

In his statement, Mbappe asserted that Amarilla did not represent the passion and honor of Paraguay. The senator's inflammatory remarks were reportedly a response to an incident after France's 1-0 win against Paraguay. Following the match, an altercation occurred between Mbappe and Paraguay's goalkeeper, Orlando Gill, which ended with Gill throwing the ball at the French forward.
