Mechanic Dies Crushed by Bus During Repair in Rosario; Colleague Injured

A tragic accident in Rosario, Argentina, claimed the life of a mechanic who was crushed by a bus he was working on. The incident occurred Friday afternoon at a workshop in the Puente Gallego neighborhood.

The victim, identified as José Luis M., was working beneath the bus when the hydraulic jack supporting the vehicle failed. His colleague, 59-year-old Mario Eduardo P., was also trapped under the bus and sustained severe injuries to his hip, leg, and chest. Emergency medical services attempted to revive José Luis M. at the scene, but he was pronounced dead.

According to Juan Carlos, another employee who witnessed the accident, the bus lacked safety blocks, which are crucial for preventing such catastrophic failures. The workshop, Elásticos Saita SRL, has been operating in the area for approximately 30 years.

Police and forensic investigators are examining the scene to determine the exact cause of the jack's failure. The incident highlights the critical importance of safety protocols in automotive repair workshops.
