Medellín's Flower Fair 2026 Kicks Off with Primavera Parade Featuring 26 Floats

Medellín is alive with color and tradition as the city hosts its 69th annual Flower Fair, a vibrant celebration running from July 31 to August 9, 2026. This year's event promises a rich tapestry of activities, with over 120 free events and more than 2,300 artists participating.

One of the most anticipated events is the Primavera Parade, set to captivate attendees with over 26 floats stretching along a 2.4-kilometer route on Avenida Regional. The parade, a spectacle of music and tradition, is a highlight for both residents and the many visitors drawn to the capital of Antioquia.

Mayor Federico Gutiérrez has extended an open invitation to Colombians nationwide, underscoring the fair's commitment to family-friendly entertainment. "This is a Flower Fair for families," he stated, highlighting various events designed for all ages, from pet-friendly activities to musical performances in "Plazas de Flores" and "Zona que Suena." The city aims to activate spaces across all its districts, ensuring broad participation and enjoyment.

The city administration has allocated approximately 1 billion pesos through a call for "Fomento y Estímulos para el Arte y la Cultura" to support local artists and promote their work. The fair kicked off on July 31 with an inaugural concert at the Obelisco, featuring popular artists like Arelys Henao and El Tropicombo, drawing thousands of enthusiastic attendees.
