Media, public awareness sector reviews efforts to address grounded vessel incident

Oman's National Committee for Emergency Management convened a meeting to assess media and public awareness strategies related to the grounding of the vessel Caroline Bezengi near the Al Hallaniyat Islands. The session was chaired by Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and Head of the Sector.

The committee reviewed the latest updates on the incident, focusing on the frameworks and mechanisms for media engagement. Efforts to continuously monitor the situation's evolution were also examined. A key aspect of the discussion involved the role of media outlets in disseminating accurate and reliable information to the public while actively addressing rumors and misinformation.

The overarching aim is to bolster community awareness and ensure that all information and updates concerning the incident are strictly handled through official sources and channels within the Sultanate of Oman.
