Meet LASU’s best graduating students for two sessions

Lagos State University (LASU) has honored two exceptional scholars as its overall best graduating students for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions. The announcements were made by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello during a press conference preceding the university's combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies.

Ayilara Olawale, from the Department of Project Management Technology, secured the top spot for the 2024/2025 session with an impressive CGPA of 4.96, graduating with First Class Honours. He attributed his success to divine grace, expressing gratitude on his X handle and looking forward to a "lifetime of excellence." Olawale previously described his academic journey as one requiring discipline, endurance, and perseverance.

For the 2025/2026 session, Adebanjo Oluolamide, a student of Aerospace Engineering, achieved an outstanding CGPA of 4.97. Oluolamide also dedicated his achievement to God, highlighting the role of grace, wisdom, and strength. He noted his involvement in extracurricular activities, including research and academic publications, and had previously been named Scholar of the Year at the AESA-LASU Dinner.

Collectively, LASU is set to graduate more than 20,000 students across both sessions. Among them are 494 students who will receive First Class Honours, underscoring the academic achievements celebrated at the institution.
