Memorial evening for Kairgyl Sartbaeva to be held in Bishkek

Bishkek will host a special commemorative evening to honor the 90th birthday of the distinguished Kyrgyz opera singer, Kairgyl Sartbaeva. The event is scheduled for June 20 at 5:00 PM at the A. Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

Attendees will experience a program featuring a wide array of musical pieces, including works from both world and national classical repertoires. The performances will be delivered by Sartbaeva's former students and colleagues, many of whom are celebrated artists in their own right. Among the featured performers are People's Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic Asel Bekbaeva and Zamira Mavyanova, alongside Honored Artists Baktygul Bokoeva, Aizirek Momunova, Zaira Raimbekova, and Salim Baltayeva. Soloists Olga Shutova and Polina Popikova will also lend their voices to the celebration.

The evening will also showcase the talents of the theater's academic choir and symphony orchestra. Conducting the performances will be the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhumakadyr Kanimetov. The event aims to pay tribute to Sartbaeva's immense contribution to the development of Kyrgyz opera, during which she created over 50 memorable roles and amassed a recording legacy of more than 600 arias, romances, and songs.

Kairgyl Sartbaeva has been a prominent figure in representing Kyrgyz art on the international stage, significantly contributing to the global recognition of national culture. This jubilee evening serves as a testament to her profound impact on the country's musical heritage and her role in nurturing several generations of vocalists.
