Memorial Service Held for Late Rachmat Gobel in Jakarta

A solemn memorial prayer service was held to commemorate the seventh day since the passing of Rachmat Gobel. The event took place at his residence in Jalan Prof Dr Soepomo, South Jakarta, on Thursday.

Several notable figures were in attendance, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority Basuki Hadimuljono, celebrity Irfan Hakim, and defense observer Connie Rahakundini Bakrie. Attendees were dressed in white attire, with many wearing black peci caps.

Rachmat Gobel passed away on Friday, July 10, at 3:20 AM WIB at Brawijaya Hospital in South Jakarta. He was buried at the Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery with full military honors, a tribute to his contributions to the nation. The funeral was led by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saan Mustopa.

Gobel, 63, was a politician from the NasDem party with a background as a businessman. He held significant parliamentary positions and served as the Chief Commissioner for various PT Panasonic companies. He also served as the Minister of Trade from 2014 to 2015 under President Joko Widodo.
