Men's Volleyball Team Clinches East Asian Championship for Second Straight Year, Fourth Title Overall

The South Korean men's national volleyball team has successfully defended its East Asian Championship title, securing a second consecutive victory and their fourth overall championship. The team triumphed over Japan's second-string squad in a hard-fought final match held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with a score of 3-1 (40-38, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22).

This victory follows their win against Taiwan in the previous year's tournament. Japan, not fielding its top-tier team due to the tournament not offering ranking points for the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), opted to showcase emerging talent. However, South Korea, competing with its core members, had already defeated this Japanese team 3-1 in the group stage earlier in the competition.

Opposite spiker Shin Ho-jin, a key player for Hyundai Capital, was instrumental in South Korea's success, scoring 18 points in the final match. His outstanding performance earned him the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the tournament, capping off a dominant performance by the South Korean team.
