Men's Volleyball Wins East Asian Championship for Second Straight Year, Defeating Japan

South Korea's men's national volleyball team clinched their second consecutive East Asian Championship title, triumphing over Japan with a 3-1 victory in the final. The team maintained a perfect 5-0 record throughout the tournament, securing their fourth championship overall.

The intense final match saw South Korea win the first set 40-38 after 15 deuces, showcasing a fierce battle. Although they dropped the third set, strong offensive performances from Lim Seong-jin and Jeong Han-yong in the fourth set sealed the win.

Shin Ho-jin was a standout player, scoring a team-high 18 points and earning the Most Valuable Player award. Lim Seong-jin contributed 17 points, while middle blockers Choi Jun-hyuk and Lee Sang-hyun each added 16 points. The team's performance allowed them to improve their world ranking from 26th to 25th.

This tournament is significant as it allows teams not participating in the Volleyball Nations League to earn ranking points. While Japan and China fielded developmental squads, South Korea capitalized on the opportunity to boost their standing.
