Mercedes-AMG GT 43 launched in Korea, boosting sports car lineup

Mercedes-Benz Korea has expanded its high-performance sports car portfolio with the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG GT 43. This new model joins the existing AMG GT 55 4Matic+ and AMG GT 63 S E Performance, intensifying the brand's push into the competitive sports car market.

The AMG GT 43 is a rear-wheel-drive, two-door performance coupe powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline turbo engine. It delivers an impressive 421 horsepower and 51 kgf·m of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 280 km/h.

A key innovation is the use of an electric gas flow turbocharger, developed with technology from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team. This system significantly improves engine response across the rev range, enhancing acceleration and agility. Additionally, a 48V mild-hybrid system provides a temporary boost of up to 10 kW and improves efficiency through coasting and regenerative braking functions. Power is managed by an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle's chassis is equipped with AMG sports suspension and rear-axle steering, which can adjust up to 2.5 degrees. This setup enhances cornering stability and overall handling precision. The interior boasts the third-generation MBUX infotainment system with TMAP Auto, a head-up display, augmented reality navigation, AMG Track Pace, and a suite of driving assistance packages as standard. Comfort features include multicontour seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof, and a 360-degree camera.

With a 2+2 seating configuration, the AMG GT 43 balances sporty performance with everyday practicality, offering a trunk capacity of up to 675 liters. Mercedes-Benz Korea is also releasing a limited Launch Edition of 10 units, featuring a distinctive High-tech Silver Metallic exterior, Red Pepper and Black Nappa leather interior, AMG Night Package, and AMG Ride Control suspension. The AMG GT 43 is priced at 149.5 million won, while the Launch Edition costs 160.5 million won.
