Messi-less Miami Wins 1-0 on Casemiro's Debut; Berterame Injured

The decisive goal came in the 81st minute when Luis Suarez converted a penalty. This occurred shortly after Miami's Mexican international, German Berterame, sustained a severe head injury in a collision with Montreal's Efrain Morales. Berterame fell to the ground motionless after the clash of heads, prompting immediate medical attention and a lengthy delay. He was subsequently taken off the pitch in an ambulance.

Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos confirmed that Berterame was "OK and conscious" and that his family had been informed. Casemiro, a veteran with 91 caps for Brazil and five Champions League titles with Real Madrid, made his first appearance for Miami since joining from Manchester United. Messi and his Argentina teammate Rodrigo De Paul were absent for the second game in a row, following Argentina's defeat in the World Cup final. MLS officials confirmed that Messi will not participate in the upcoming All-Star game. Miami has won both their matches since the league resumed after the World Cup, extending their winning streak to six games and positioning them two points behind Eastern Conference leaders Nashville.
