Metecan Birsen departs Fenerbahçe Beko after winning 12 titles

Fenerbahçe Beko, the Turkish basketball club, has announced that player Metecan Birsen will be leaving the team. The club confirmed the separation in a statement, marking the end of Birsen's second tenure with the Istanbul-based team.

Birsen, a product of Fenerbahçe's youth academy, previously played for the club between 2011 and 2014. He returned for a second stint from 2021 until the current season, 2026. Throughout his time with Fenerbahçe Beko, Birsen was part of successful campaigns that saw the team achieve significant victories.

The club highlighted Birsen's contributions to their trophy collection, noting his involvement in winning one EuroLeague title, five Turkish Basketball Super League championships, four Turkish Cups, and two Presidential Cups. In total, the 31-year-old player amassed 12 championship titles with Fenerbahçe Beko.

Fenerbahçe Beko expressed gratitude for Birsen's efforts and wished him success in his future basketball career. The club did not specify the reasons for his departure or his next destination.
