Meteorological Service Forecasts Showers and Thunderstorms in Parts of Türkiye on Sept. 6

Türkiye’s Meteorological Service forecasts partly to mostly cloudy conditions across the north, central areas and east on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026. Local showers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of the Black Sea, eastern and southeastern regions, the Taurus Mountains in the eastern Mediterranean, and around Hatay.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly. Antalya is forecast to reach 40°C, while İzmir and Muğla could reach 37°C. Adana is expected to reach 35°C, Istanbul 31°C and Ankara 32°C.

The Marmara and Aegean regions will generally remain partly cloudy or lightly cloudy. Coastal areas of the western and central Black Sea may see local showers and thunderstorms, including around Sinop and Zonguldak later in the day. Rize, Samsun and Trabzon are also forecast to receive local rain and thunderstorms.

In eastern Türkiye, local showers and thunderstorms are expected in northern and eastern districts, including Erzurum and Kars. Hatay may see showers and thunderstorms during the morning and midday, while much of the remaining country is expected to remain lightly cloudy or clear.
