Meteorology announces August 8, 2026 weather report: How will the weather be today?

Turkey's General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued its latest weather report for August 8, 2026. The forecast indicates that northern parts of the country and the Mediterranean region will experience partly cloudy to very cloudy skies, with scattered local showers and thunderstorms expected in the Toroslar region of the Mediterranean, the Black Sea coast, and around Kırklareli, Çorum, and Amasya.

Most other areas are predicted to have clear and lightly cloudy skies. Temperatures are expected to hover around seasonal averages across the country, with the exception of southern regions, which will experience warmer conditions. A strong wind warning has been issued for the southwestern Marmara and North Aegean coastal areas, where winds from the north are anticipated to reach speeds of 40-60 km/h. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions against potential adverse effects.

Specific regional forecasts include: Marmara will be partly cloudy with possible showers in Kırklareli in the afternoon, and strong northerly winds in the southwest. The Aegean region will be mostly clear, with strong northerly winds along the North Aegean coast. The Mediterranean region will be partly cloudy with afternoon showers in the Toroslar area. Central and Eastern Black Sea regions will see scattered showers, particularly along the coast and in Çorum and Amasya.
