Metro Jaya Deputy Chief Promoted as Police Make Senior Appointments

Dekananto Eko Purwono, the deputy chief of Indonesia’s Metro Jaya police, received promotion to the two-star rank of inspector general on Wednesday.

National police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led the promotion ceremony at the Rupattama building at police headquarters. The rank change also aligned with the position of Metro Jaya police chief, which is held by Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri.

Several other Metro Jaya positions, including the internal inspector, planning bureau chief, and operations bureau chief, rose from commissioner-level ranks to brigadier general. Sigit also installed a number of senior officials at national police headquarters.

Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie became the chief police assistant for operations, replacing Commissioner General Fadil Imran, who is retiring. Inspector General Jawari became the police assistant for human resources, replacing Inspector General Anwar, who is also retiring.

Brigadier General Yudo Hermanto became North Sulawesi police chief, replacing Langie. Inspector General Ruslan Effendi became coordinator of the chief’s expert staff, replacing Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak. Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru moved from the Southwest Papua police chief post to a senior police instructor role, while Brigadier General Hengki Haryadi, formerly deputy chief of Riau police, became Southwest Papua police chief.

Police public information division chief Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir described the changes as part of organizational dynamics, career development, and institutional renewal.
