Mexican cyclist Isaac Del Toro takes lead in Tour of Germany

Mexican cyclist Isaac Del Toro is on the cusp of a major victory at the Tour of Germany, having seized the overall lead after a strong performance in Stage 3.

Del Toro, riding for UAE Team Emirates, finished second in the third stage of the 2026 Tour of Germany. This result propelled him to the top of the general classification, where he now leads by 52 seconds over his nearest rival, Louis Barré of France. With only one stage left, Del Toro is in a prime position to claim the title.

The young talent has consistently impressed throughout the race, showcasing his climbing abilities and determination. His performance has drawn significant attention, highlighting his potential as a rising star in professional cycling.

The final stage, Stage 4, will present a new challenge: a 156.5-kilometer circuit race starting and finishing in Heilbronn. Del Toro will need to maintain his focus and defend his lead against Barré and other competitors.

Another Mexican rider, Edgar 'Chucky' Cadena, is also competing in the Tour of Germany. Representing the Storck MRW Bau team, Cadena is currently in 11th place in the general classification and aims to break into the top 10.
