Mexican Farmers Seek to Consolidate in the U.S. Amid Claims of Neglect and Violence Back Home

Mexican agricultural organizations are intensifying efforts to establish a stronger foothold in the United States, aiming to better organize and support farmworkers. This strategic move is prompted by growing concerns over violence and extortion plaguing the agricultural sector within Mexico.

The National Confederation of Campesinos (CNC) is at the forefront of this initiative, seeking to create a more robust network for its members working abroad. The organization highlights the precarious conditions faced by many agricultural laborers, both in Mexico and in their host countries.

To bolster these efforts, an agreement has been forged with AmSoc. This partnership is designed to provide crucial financing and technological modernization for Mexican producers. The goal is to enhance productivity and competitiveness within the agro-export sector, while simultaneously promising improved employment opportunities and greater security for those involved.
