Mexico City announces "aura farming" battle event: When, where, and prizes?

A unique live event, dubbed the "Batalla de farmeo de aura" (Aura Farming Battle), is set to take place in Mexico City, bringing a popular digital trend to a physical stage. The event, organized by digital content platform Proyecto Escolar, invites young creators and the public to participate in a competition centered around the concept of "farming aura."

This trend, largely adopted by Generation Z, uses terms from video games to describe social reputation, charisma, and visual presentation. According to research from the Oxford Internet Institute, this phenomenon reflects the "gamification of social behavior," where real-life interactions are evaluated using metrics from interactive gaming environments.

The "Aura Farming Battle" will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, at the Explanada del Parque México in the Condesa neighborhood. The event is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Participants will compete for a cash prize of 3,000 Mexican pesos, advertised as "300,000 Mexican cents."
