Mexico City leader praises departing Morena chief Héctor Díaz-Polanco

Clara Brugada, the head of government for Mexico City, has lauded Héctor Díaz-Polanco for his significant contributions to the political movement Morena. Díaz-Polanco recently stepped down from his role as the president of Morena in the capital, a position he held for over 18 months.

Brugada described Díaz-Polanco as a foundational figure in the party's development and consolidation. She emphasized his deep and transformative vision for Morena, coupled with a history of honesty and dedication. "He has been one of the pillars of the construction and consolidation of the transformation," Brugada stated on her social media platform X, wishing him success in his new endeavors.

Díaz-Polanco assumed leadership of Morena CDMX in November 2024, following the departure of Sebastián Ramírez. His tenure was marked by a commitment to the party's core ideals, which Brugada suggested would continue to guide their efforts in strengthening the movement and advancing the "second floor of transformation" for the country.
