Mexico's Open University to open registration for over 20,000 distance learning spots

The Open and Distance Learning University of Mexico (UnADM) is set to open registration for its distance learning bachelor's degree programs, offering more than 20,000 places to prospective students. The application period begins on Monday, July 20, 2026, and will remain open until August 2, 2026. This year's intake includes 20,400 available spaces distributed across 20 distinct educational programs. The academic offerings span various fields, including Health Sciences, Biological and Environmental Sciences, Exact Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Social and Administrative Sciences. Popular degree programs include Law, Software Development, Applied Nutrition, Public Accounting and Finance, Industrial Management, International Marketing, Biotechnology, Logistics and Transportation, Health Services Management and Administration, and Public Management.

This year the UnADM will offer 20,040 spaces in 20 educational programs aimed at high school graduates who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in an open and distance learning modality.

To be eligible, applicants must be Mexican nationals who have completed their upper secondary education. They will need a certified CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) verified by the Civil Registry, a complete high school diploma or equivalent, and proof of completion of an online course from Saberes MX, Cursos @prendeMX, or UnADM itself. Specific documentation requirements apply to applicants pursuing degrees in Public Security and Mathematics Teaching.

The admission process is rigorous and consists of four mandatory stages. First, applicants must obtain a folio and upload their documents. This is followed by an application survey, a unique skills questionnaire, and finally, an entrance course. Successful completion of each phase is essential to proceed in the selection process. The application survey will be available from August 10 to 16, the skills questionnaire from August 24 to September 6, and the entrance course will run from September 28 to October 18, 2026, with no possibility of extension. Accepted applicants will be notified on November 9, 2026, with enrollment beginning shortly thereafter and the academic semester commencing on January 11, 2027.
