Mexico's Senate condemns migrant deaths in U.S., demands investigation

Mexico's Senate has voiced strong condemnation and concern over the recent deaths of 17 Mexican citizens in the United States, reportedly in connection with actions by U.S. immigration authorities. In a unified statement supported by all six parliamentary groups, the chamber's Political Coordination Board and Presiding Officer declared their "firm and unwavering commitment" to protecting the lives, dignity, and fundamental rights of Mexican migrants.

The senators pledged that such events "will not go unpunished nor will they be repeated." They expressed deep solidarity and condolences to the victims' families, stating that "no compatriot abroad should be left unprotected against possible abuses of authority, disproportionate use of force, or violations of their human rights."

The Senate's statement explicitly backs the legal and diplomatic actions initiated by the Mexican government. They demand thorough, impartial, and transparent investigations to establish responsibility and ensure justice and reparations for the victims and their families.
