Mexico Security Cabinet Aids Tecate Councilwoman Attack Probe, Finds Burned Vehicle Used by Assailants

Mexico's Security Cabinet is actively working with Baja California authorities to solve the attack on Tecate councilwoman María de Jesús Quijada and her family. The violent incident occurred Tuesday afternoon as the family traveled in a vehicle through the La Hacienda neighborhood in Tecate. They were fired upon, resulting in the councilwoman and a minor being wounded, while her husband tragically died.

As part of the initial investigation, security forces found a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the assailants. This vehicle was discovered burned three kilometers from the crime scene. Authorities are enhancing their investigation by collecting and analyzing surveillance footage to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible.

The Security Cabinet has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting local authorities in bringing those responsible to justice, stating that there will be no impunity for this crime.
