Michael Jordan's 1998 NBA Finals jersey to be auctioned

A white Chicago Bulls jersey worn by Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals, his final championship series, is set to go up for auction in September. The platform Joopiter, founded by artist Pharrell Williams, has listed the iconic garment with an expected sale price between $10 million and $15 million.

The jersey was worn by Jordan on June 7, 1998, during Game 3 of the finals against the Utah Jazz. On that night, Jordan scored 24 points, contributing to the Bulls' victory and a 2-1 series lead. This game was part of "The Last Dance," Jordan's final season where he secured his sixth NBA championship.

This auction follows Joopiter's previous high-profile sales, including Kobe Bryant's Nike Kobe 6 'Grinch' sneakers, worn on Christmas Day 2010, which had a minimum bid of $10 million. Additionally, a signed trading card featuring both Bryant and Jordan was auctioned last August for over $12.9 million, setting a record for sports memorabilia.

The 1998 NBA Finals marked Jordan's sixth and final appearance in the championship series, culminating in his sixth ring after his famous "Last Shot" with five seconds remaining in the deciding game.
