Michoacán Prosecutor's Office requests cell phones from Uruapan mayor in homicide investigation

The Michoacán Prosecutor's Office (FGE) has expanded its investigation into the homicide of Mayor Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez, requesting that the current mayor of Uruapan, Grecia Quiroz García, hand over the victim's cell phones. The FGE informed Quiroz, who is considered an indirect victim, about the progress of the investigation and ongoing lines of inquiry.

The request for Manzo's mobile devices is part of the efforts to conduct a thorough forensic examination as the investigation seeks to fully clarify the circumstances of the assassination. This action is based on constitutional provisions and the National Code of Criminal Procedures.

The FGE stated that it will continue to carry out the necessary ministerial and forensic procedures to shed light on the case. The office committed to providing updates on its findings as the investigation progresses, adhering to principles of legality, objectivity, and due process.
