Middle Fly Families walk kilometres for sago as drought deepens food and water crisis

Families in Kaviananga Village, located in the Middle Fly District of Western Province, Papua New Guinea, are grappling with intensifying hardship as persistent dry conditions continue to deplete vital resources. The prolonged drought has led to the drying up of essential sago swamps, a critical food source for many communities, and freshwater sources are dwindling rapidly.
