Argentine President Javier Milei convened a crucial cabinet meeting at the Casa Rosada, the presidential palace, shortly after attending a national ceremony. This gathering, the second of its kind this month, is intended to quell escalating internal tensions that have recently gripped the administration.

The meeting is particularly significant as it brings together key figures who have been at the center of recent government disputes. Martín Menem, the head of the Lower House, and presidential advisor Santiago Caputo, both protagonists in the latest internal crisis, were present. Their participation signals an effort to mend divisions within the ruling party.

Adding to the complexity, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Manuel Adorni, faces the possibility of being summoned by the judiciary to explain his personal wealth growth. This situation adds another layer of pressure to the administration's efforts to stabilize internally.

While most executive branch members were expected to attend, Minister of Human Capital Sandra Pettovello is abroad on official business in the Vatican. There is ongoing discussion within the government about potentially reducing the size of future meetings to only include members of the Executive Branch and Caputo, a move that could sideline figures like Patricia Bullrich, a prominent libertarian figure in the Senate, and Menem.

Recent weeks have seen public disagreements, notably between Bullrich and Adorni regarding the timely presentation of his financial disclosure. Further internal friction arose between Menem and Caputo, allegedly linked to a social media account. President Milei has had to address these disputes, with allies of Caputo publicly stating that the President was misled regarding the situation.
