Milei meets Noboa in Ecuador for bilateral agreement signings

Argentine President Javier Milei held a bilateral meeting with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa in Quito, focusing on signing a series of bilateral agreements across various sectors. The meeting took place at the Carondelet Palace.

Both leaders maintain a strong relationship, having met previously, including during Noboa's visit to Buenos Aires last August. Sources indicate the agreements signed include a "protocol for the automotive regime," an air services agreement, an extradition treaty, a cooperation agreement for the peaceful use of nuclear energy, a joint declaration on fishing, and a cyber defense cooperation agreement.

Prior to the meeting, Milei participated in a floral offering ceremony at the Plaza de la Independencia in Quito. Following his agenda with Noboa, Milei was scheduled to meet with representatives from Argentine automotive chambers. Meanwhile, Ecuador's Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno was set to attend the opening of the Economic Forum.

The Argentine delegation, including Milei, his sister Karina Milei (Secretary General of the Presidency), and Quirno, was expected to depart for Cali, Colombia, on Thursday evening. In Colombia, Milei is scheduled to meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar on Friday morning, along with other officials. Later that day, he will meet with the president-elect of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, whose inauguration ceremony will take place at the Arena of Santiago de Cali University, rather than the capital, Bogotá.
