Milei Tells Farmers 'We Want to Return to the Country That Was the World's Granary'

President Javier Milei addressed the agricultural sector, calling producers "heroes" and promising a new era for production. He highlighted the potential for growth, stating that Argentina could produce 300 million tons of grain, effectively doubling current output. Milei expressed a shared goal with producers to restore Argentina to its former glory as the "granary of the world" and one of the planet's wealthiest nations.

"We and you want exactly the same thing: we want to return to the country that, when it gave freedom to the countryside, became the granary of the world and one of the richest nations on the planet," Milei declared. He also pointed to his previous term, stating, "Last year I returned and I was already able to show you facts."

The president emphasized that the conditions are in place for this ambitious production target. He also committed to continuing the reduction of tax burdens on the sector, signaling a supportive government stance towards agriculture's role in the national economy.
