This choice mirrors the actions of former presidents Alberto Fernández and Cristina Fernández, who also abstained from traveling to previous World Cup finals. Milei indicated that the presidential palace, Casa Rosada, would be available for the team to celebrate a potential victory. However, he stressed that no political figures should attempt to claim credit for the players' success, ensuring the spotlight remains on the athletes. The president made these remarks during an interview with the media outlet El Observador.
