Military Region 5 Prepares to Establish Second Central Vietnam Military Cadet School Campus in Gia Lai

Military Region 5 is preparing to establish a second campus of the Central Vietnam Military Cadet School in Gia Lai, using the former headquarters of Regiment 991 in Thống Nhất Ward.

The planned campus would include administrative offices, classrooms, military and physical training areas, housing for teachers and students, a dining hall, shared activity spaces, sports facilities, a clinic and supporting works. Officials are reviewing the site’s layout, internal roads and facilities to adapt them to students’ education and daily life.

The campus is expected to recruit students entering grades 6 and 10. It would organize four classes for about 160 students. Military Region 5 has been preparing personnel, teachers, admissions plans, barracks, equipment and other requirements so the school can begin work once the competent authorities approve its establishment.

Officials have also surveyed the existing barracks and assessed the need for renovations, repairs and new construction. Preparations cover logistics, technical and financial support, party organization, political work, curricula, lesson plans and admissions coordination with local authorities.

Lieutenant General Lê Ngọc Hải inspected the planned site on September 7 and praised the responsibility of the agencies, units and consultants involved in the planning. He called the Gia Lai campus important for training future military personnel and for educating young people about tradition and revolutionary ideals. Procedures concerning the construction land and adjustments to the design are still being completed.
