Milito Critical of Chivas' Finishing Despite First Win

Chivas achieved their first victory of the Apertura 2026 season, narrowly defeating FC Juárez 1-0 thanks to a dramatic last-minute goal from Roberto Alvarado. The win came after a tough match where Chivas dominated possession and created numerous scoring opportunities but struggled with finishing. Alvarado's decisive goal in the 96th minute, assisted by Ricardo Marín, finally broke the deadlock and secured the crucial three points for the Guadalajara-based club.

Following the hard-fought win, Chivas' head coach, Gabriel Milito, was self-critical in his post-match press conference. He believes the goals will come, comparing it to football's unpredictability where sometimes fewer chances lead to more goals, and vice versa. The coach is optimistic that as the season progresses, the team will find its rhythm and improve its consistency. He concluded by affirming that the victory was well-deserved, given the effort and play, and expressed satisfaction with the team's performance and the final result, calling it "fair."

Looking ahead to the upcoming Leagues Cup, Milito committed that Chivas will compete with the ambition to win the trophy, recognizing the obligation that comes with representing a major institution.
