Millions in Loot from 2023 Haspa Bank Burglary; Four Men in Custody

Authorities have revealed the substantial sum stolen during a brazen 2023 bank robbery: 1.95 million euros. The crime occurred in November 2023 at a Sparkasse branch in the Hamm district of Hamburg. Six masked individuals gained undetected access to the bank late in the afternoon.

Inside, the robbers encountered two 61-year-old employees, one of whom managed to alert the police. The perpetrators fled the scene with the cash, using a dark SUV for their escape. At the time of the incident, the exact amount of the loot was not disclosed, and a large police operation involving approximately two dozen patrol cars failed to apprehend the suspects.

Investigations have since led to six individuals, aged between 31 and 37, being identified as suspects. According to the Hamburg public prosecutor's office, two of these suspects are already serving prison sentences for unrelated crimes. Two additional suspects were arrested in May and are currently being held in pre-trial detention. No indictment has been filed yet, and the arrest warrants for these individuals were reportedly executed in Berlin.
