The Tainan Canal became a stage for traditional Chinese opera as the renowned Ming Hwa Yuan Chinese Opera Troupe presented classic performances, adding a rich artistic dimension to the Tainan International Dragon Boat Race. The troupe's masterful acting, elaborate costumes, and stunning stage effects captivated a massive audience gathered along the canal.

Thousands of spectators flocked to the event, with many arriving hours in advance to claim prime viewing positions. The overwhelming turnout transformed the dragon boat race into a lively city carnival, blending athletic competition with cultural celebration. The Tainan City Government presented the troupe with a commemorative gift, acknowledging their contribution to a high-caliber cultural experience for the public.

This year's dragon boat race holds special significance as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Anping Canal's opening. The event boasts a record prize pool exceeding 1.5 million New Taiwan dollars and an adjusted competition format. Alongside the races, attendees enjoyed cultural performances and browsed a market featuring 142 stalls offering local specialties.

Chen Liang-gan, Director of the Sports Bureau, highlighted the inclusion of Ming Hwa Yuan's performance as a key attraction, allowing the public to experience the beauty of traditional Taiwanese performing arts up close. He also announced that the Nine Heavens Drum and Arts Group would perform on the final day, concluding the event with a powerful display of traditional drumming and folk artistry.
